![]() ![]() Margot Hovley has published two novels with Covenant Communications: "Sudden Darkness" (2012) and "Glimmering Light" (2014). This book has a meaty enough setting that it could have easily been written as a series, but it is a stand-alone novel. "Stitching Snow" has a thrilling pace, and it's easy to want to cheer for the extremely likable characters. ![]() There is a discreet mention of child sexual abuse that some young readers may miss. There are two places in the story where a character is attacked in rape attempts, but neither time does a rape come close to occurring, and they are described in non-graphic ways. ![]() The book is refreshingly free of swearing. The developing romance is sweet rather than steamy, with nothing more than kissing. Besides the cool sci-fi elements, "Stitching Snow" is packed with heroics, down-to-the-second saves, loyal friends and, yes, even an apple and a poisonous queen. ![]()
